We are excited to let you know that this year, all Bettie F. Williams Elementary students are eligible to receive a nutritious breakfast and lunch each day at school at no charge to you throughout the entire 2016-2017 school year. Bettie F. Williams has been selected to take part in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. That means that everyone in our school can participate without parents having to fill out forms for free or reduced meals. If you change schools during the year, however, you will need to complete the application process at your child's new school. In addition, if you have children in other schools and feel that they might qualify for free or reduced meals, you may submit an application here.

5th Grade Field Trip to NAS Oceana
As the start of the school year approaches, we are happy to let you know about an exciting field trip opportunity for all our fifth-grade students. Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) is partnering with Naval Air Station Oceana and dozens of community organizations to host a STEM Learning Day during the base's annual Air Show.
Friday, September 9, each of our 5,461 grade 5 students will have the chance to visit NAS Oceana, at no cost, to engage in hands-on activities and learn about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) careers in a real-world setting. What's more, students will get an up close look at aircraft; visit with pilots, mechanics and support personnel; and watch a special performance by the Navy's elite flight demonstration team, The Blue Angels. Please note that because this field trip takes place on the base flight line and tarmac, all students must wear closed toe shoes.
Please click here to print the field trip form, by signing this form you are giving permission for your child to take part in the field trip, receive medical attention if needed, and be photographed or videotaped by VBCPS staff and media outlets who may be attending the event.
