VB Schools Parent Connection, in cooperation with VA STAR (Virginia Student Training and Refurbishment Program), has provided refurbished computers – at no cost – to identified families in need since 2009. A limited number of computers are now available and will be distributed during an event on February 16, 6:30-8:00 p.m., at the Advanced Technology Center (ATC).
ATC teacher Jim Spruill and his students have worked for weeks to reconfigure donated computers and load them with free software. These same students will also tutor families at the event about how to use their new computers. Computers are available for more families at this time. If you know of a VBCPS family or VBCPS families in need, who DO NOT HAVE a desktop or laptop at home for students to do schoolwork, please assist the family to complete the attached application and submit it to the Office of Community Engagement no later than Feb. 2, 2017. For more information, contact the Office of Community Engagement, at 263-1936.
